Being a Fur-Foster Mom

A little over a year ago, my boyfriend was trying to get his work to engage in some sort of volunteering activity. He wanted everyone to get set up with walking dogs at the local shelter. It’s the best shelter to support here because it is the only non-single breed, no-kill shelter in this area. Before he could even get his colleagues psyched on it, on September 8th, 2016, I sent him a Facebook video I saw on my feed from this specific shelter asking for help. They were going to gut and re-build a whole room of dog apartments, …

Autumn is Here

So today I’m sitting at work writing this blog post instead of doing sales-person things. Today, and like the last few weeks, I just feel excited and so in love with Fall. It officially began last Friday so I don’t need to make excuses anymore for my excessive PSL drinking. The weather is supposed to finally drop tomorrow. That means I can probably get away with a light sweater…..indoors lol. It will only be 79; cooler than it has been but still relatively warm. I’ll take any chance I can get to wear my sweaters and boots. They are admittedly …

Valuing Yourself, And How Others Can De-Value You

My boyfriend and I had a very interesting conversation the other day that I thought was really important. We were talking about how someone can unintentionally de-value you and how you have to know your worth. I work for a small business and I don’t get paid very much. All of my other colleagues get paid more than me, but still not very much in the grand scheme of things. We are still finding our feet and we are getting there, but not yet. I started working for this company two years ago as an “intern”. I did gopher work …

Spoon-Fed College Classes

So I’m in my third year of college this year. I took a gap year last year to work. Today I started my first class of the semester, General Psych. There will be six quizzes this semester, all open book/open note. We also have an optional midterm and an optional final. To top it off, there are multiple ways to get extra credit, there are no homework assignments, and there are no projects. Can a college course get more spoon-fed than that? This is any student’s wet dream. I’m down for the easy A, but it’s almost infuriating how easy …

What Would You Do If You Won The Lottery?

Winning the lottery is something I think about a lot. By ‘a lot’, I mean it’s pretty much a daily basis thought. What would I do with it all if I won? What would you do with it? This probably sounds like I have a gambling problem. I don’t. I only play when the jackpot is upward of $300 million. Anything smaller is for peasants. Haha jk, I’d take anything I could get at this point. But I’d be broke if I played all the time, so I wait for the jackpot to be massive. Maybe I’ll never win, but …
